At La'Roc Stars, awareness is at the forefront of what we’re working together towards. Our programs and activities are designed to be a catalyst that helps community members become more aware of the importance of speaking with their families, children, and friends about the dangers of sex trafficking and child exploitation. Victims of human trafficking can be of any age, gender, race, or immigration status; they live in cities, suburbs, and rural areas. Human traffickers relentlessly canvass ways to take advantage of people who find themselves in circumstances of extreme adversity or violence, and experience discrimination, economic vulnerability, or dependence. Communities that experience some of these hardships may be particularly vulnerable to human trafficking. (source)
